Mrs. Frana

Missy Frana, Principal

To the City with Natural Charm-Groveland, Florida,

Welcome to the new school year! I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Missy Frana and I have been an educator for over 20 years. I have served as a Teacher, Athletic Trainer, Coach, Athletic Director, Department Chair, Assistant Principal, and currently as the proud Principal of Cecil E. Gray Middle School.

Prior to working in education, I was the head athletic trainer at Colonial High School in Orlando, Florida. It was in this position, where my love for children led me to the classroom. A decision I have yet to regret. In 2006, I relocated to Clermont and began my career at East Ridge High School. During my tenure at ERHS, I was able to grow as a leader in many positions. I am proud to say that I am a servant leader who works alongside people focused on student success both socially and academically.

I am a proud graduate of the University of Florida (A Gator for Life!), Mississippi State University and National Louis University for which I have earned a Bachelors in Exercise Science, Masters of Education in Sports Management, and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. I am a learner at heart.

I am married to Joe Frana, who is also a lifelong educator and leader for Lake County Schools. Together, we have two wonderful children, Hope and Jacob. They are our life’s joy.

I am truly honored and blessed to be a part of a school family with so much heart, passion and determination. Immersing myself in the culture of The Gator Nation, I am confident about the endless potential of our students. With the unmatched talent of our teachers and support staff, and commitment from our parents and the community, our students will be “Proud to be a Gator”!

I look forward to working alongside you in this endeavor. Please don’t hesitate to contact me to share a concern, celebrate a success, or give a suggestion. It’s going to be momentous moving Gray from Good to Great this year! Let’s go Gators!
