Our Educator Spotlight series continues! Meet Ms. Shannon McCormick, who is joining our ESE team in IST/Access!
Ms. McCormick brings experience working with students from Pre-K through high school and is excited to begin her first year at the middle school level. She has a passion for supporting students and helping every learner succeed.
We’re excited to welcome Ms. McCormick to the Gray Middle Gator family!

Our teachers are officially back, and we’re ready for an incredible school year!
We kicked off the morning at the South Lake Chamber of Commerce Breakfast — a huge thank you to the Chamber and our community partners for supporting our schools! And we started the year with some exciting news — Gray Middle was awarded a $2,000 grant!
Then it was back to Gray for a morning of learning, collaboration, and setting the course for the year ahead.

We’re lucky to have the best custodial and clerical teams in Lake County! From keeping our campus beautiful and every classroom ready each day, to keeping our offices running smoothly and supporting our students, families, and staff — they help keep Gray Middle going strong every day!
Thank you for everything you do!

Our Educator Spotlight series continues with Ms. Jordan Viles, our new 8th Grade ELA teacher!
Originally from Kansas City, Ms. Viles earned both her bachelor’s degree in English Education and her master’s degree in Teaching Adolescent Literature from the University of South Florida. She brings a passion for reading, writing, and inspiring students to the classroom.
Outside of school, she enjoys music, Disney, Marvel, and collecting unique treasures. We’re excited to welcome Ms. Viles to the Gray Middle School Gator family and can’t wait for our students to meet her!

As we gear up for another incredible school year, we’re excited to introduce new educators to Gray Middle School.
Today, we’re proud to spotlight Ms. Emily Davidson, our Business Technology Education teacher. With a background in graphic design and a passion for creativity, Ms. Davidson brings real-world experience, innovation, and enthusiasm into the classroom. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, crocheting, and caring for her backyard chickens!
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Davidson to Gray Middle School.

Today we officially welcomed our newest Gators to Gray Middle School at Gator Camp!
Students spent the morning getting familiar with our campus, practicing how to open their lockers, meeting teachers and staff, setting goals for a successful school year, and beginning the journey of what it means to be a Gray Gator. Our principal, Mrs. Pyatt, also met with families to answer questions and present information.
